Institute for Water Futures

The Water Futures Institute (WFI) brings together water expertise from across the Australian National University (ANU), combined with new recruits and strong partnerships, to build the ANU’s capability in understanding, anticipating and managing water.

It is an interdisciplinary collaboration of 14 existing ANU staff and 10 new staff, located across four ANU Colleges, and has partnerships with a range of external agencies and organisations.

Supported by the ANU’s National Institutes Grant funding scheme, as well as significant in-kind contributions from Schools and Colleges, the Institute represents a major investment by the ANU and is a unique opportunity to advance the management of water resource systems.

The Institute for Water Futures is established at the Fenner School of Environment and Society at the ANU College of Science.
